....to be here even less often again. The number of "new" right-wing
****slingers is growing, which means rec.boats is even closer to the
event horizon of the black hole.

His past probably caught up with him and Karen finally found out what
he was doing here all these years. She saw what being connected to him
was going to do to her reputation.. I don't blame her for cutting off
his internet play time...

Doubtful, as long as Usenet or "Newsgroups" continue on the many and various
servers.

rec.boats has a long history. It was one of the original groups in UseNet
and is one of the few without a
formal charter.

It's unlikely that any individual can cause the demise of a newsgroup as
long as there are others that
use and enjoy it. Filters have made life a lot easier for those not
interested in reading obnoxious and
repetitive posts full of insults and name calling.

rec.boats took a serious turn towards politics back in the 2000 election and
many, including you, were
responsible for the course change. Eleven years later, political subjects
still dominate the discussions.

Personally, I don't mind reading different points of view from time to time
but really get bored with the
long posts with paragraphs and paragraphs of quotes, only to add, "You’re a
moron" at the end.
Waste of time, bandwidth and really doesn't add anything to an exchange of
thoughts or ideas.
More like a 6th grade recess conversation.

I think the discovery of HK's wife not being a '30 year younger bride'
was most likely a motivating factor.

There was a pause in his vitriol once before when his wife because a
victim of his usenet behavior. He completely disappeared for a period of
time, until it blew over.
