Don't go away mad, just go away.

If you are going to go after those who either have no boats or have no
interest in boats, there are plenty here on your side of the aisle from
which to choose.

I think it is stupid that they ALLOW kids to ride in the same cart you
put your food in. I never put anything I will eat in that top tray.

Leaky diaper, fresh produce (that most people put up there) what could
possibly go wrong ?
That tray is for bleach, poisons and bathroom cleaners that I also
don't want mixed with my food.
Fortunately I seldom actually see kids in carts. They have those race
car carts for kids. I think they should just eliminate the leg holes.

-------------------------------------------
Hell, the carts are dirty from just being outside and the people pushing the
cart. I normally put the bring your own bag in the cart these days to put
the food in.

Civilized up here. One of our local chains provides those anti-
bacterial wipes that I use to disinfect the shopping cart handle.
You never know when a Looney or a Freak just used that cart and left
unspeakable debris all over it.

Couple of grocery chains down here do the same in the anti-bacterial
wipes. Can't be too careful when it comes to avoiding
Loogy/Freak diseases!

I'm skipping over virtually all the posts of loogywannabe, flajim,
bottomlickerbass, et cetera. I confess to looking at the posts of
Ingersoll, because I'm hoping to see him have a total mental/emotional
breakdown right here in rec.boats. He came close the other day with his
death wish for Andy Borowitz.

I don't have a problem talking to her/it, but no one in their right mind
attempts to talk with her. It's kind of like carrying on a conversation
with a walnut. Eventually people will begin to think you are a little
strange.

There is a little more to it than the boat issue. After all, you have a
canoe and you still suck. Having a boat isn't all that necessary to have
conversations with boaters, but respect is.

All costs? Feel free to try and defend that statement.

As I actually said, the "insurance claims are.. a tiny piece of the
pie."

Ultimately yep, all costs will be passed on to the consumer. Take oil,
go ahead, slap a $90/barrel tax on oil and watch the pump prices double
or more.

A classic example was the massive judgement against the cigarette
companies. Shortly after that Altria posted record profits.

I doubt there's much causation between the two. Feel free to provide
some facts that support this causation.

They certainly passed all the costs on to the customer, plus a huge
profit.

The cost being lung cancer. Of course, they don't need to be
regulated, right? The consumer should be able to figure it out without
any help from the gov't. Why they can just stop, and if they can't,
they must be weak-minded and deserve to get sick.- this is the
mantra of the right, including Ron (non-St.) Paul.

People who smoke know it is dangerous, everyone has known that for 40
years. They are hooked on the drug and they keep doing it. You can say
the same thing about a lot of drugs, legal and illegal.
It is really none of our business.

If you are worried about the cost of Medicare you should like smokers.
A lot of them will die before they ever even get to 65.
Most avoid going to the doctor and they die fairly cheaply compared to
a "healthy" person who lives to 85, getting artificial hips, organ
transplants, cataract operations and tons of expensive drugs.

It sounds cruel but it is the choice they made.

My non-smoking grandfather lived to 100 and cost Medicare a bundle. My
smoking parents both died young and didn't have any significant
medical bills at all. My smoking sister is pretty much on her death
bed and still not on medicare. (Dec 01, 11 based on her husband's age)

---------------------------------------------
Smoking has been known to be bad for you a longer the 40 years. My mom,
who died last year at 95, and did not smoke, and was an RN said they called
them "cancer Sticks" in the late 1930's or earlier.

Therefore, gov't has no role in protecting innocent people's lives, or
some such bs.

Promote the common welfare not legislate it, you ****ing moron.

Ah yes. Some of the good hygienic practices in wide use in America
eventually get introduced to Canadians on a limited basis.
