So with the USPS running another loss this quarter, we are paying the

What do you care? Almost everything you buy likely is made in the
communist people's republic of china.
Almost everything everyone buys was made in some slave wage country.
Sometimes they will use the dodge "assembled in the USA" but that just
means they put it in the box here.

I'm pretty sure the FTC won't allow that. There may be a loophole if
the parts were made in North America due to NAFTA.

Not true at all. That is why you have to read exactly what it says. I
am not sure what the threshold is but it is very hard to find anything
that has 100% US content.

We had another case here with fruit. A Bonita/Naples orange packing
house was putting imported oranges in their boxes that said "packed in
Bonita Springs Florida" and the last I heard, there was nothing anyone
could do about it. It was up to the grocery store managers to actually
read the invoices (that had the correct country of origin) and label
them properly in the store. If you just saw the box, you would never
know they were imported.

The repackaging BS goes on everywhere. I know of a major tool
manufacturer that gets the tools in bulk from China and plastic raw
stock from China, molds the plastic container saying "Made in USA" and
then puts the Chinese made tools inside and has done so for a decade.
Yep, American workers stuffing the boxes too. Ethically deceptive but
if you challenged them in court, they would say the case was made in the
USA.

Seems like paying your bills with real money is no longer the accepted
behavior in USA. Perhaps that is the problem and not the the solution.
