I was thinking that you might be able to adapt a small dock box but prices have gone through the roof for them. * Best bet is probably to build something out of plywood if you or a buddy have cabinet making skills. Oh yeah, we can build them but I liked the idea of the pre-formed and If could be found reasonable, I'd think that would be the ticket. http://www.lasvegaspix.com/projects/...s/IMG_1953.jpg the guy did a stunning job on the Sleekcraft Executive, and here's the final outcome of his cooler seat box. Nice. Is that formica/laminate over plywood? Only problem with that is sharp corners, something I try to avoid. |

No, I have a router and can make the edges 'dull' I wouldn't want anything sharp like that. That's an inexcusable hazard. Before we talked about modified sine wave inverters I was thinking one side for a cooler and the other side for a microwave, inverter, or battery etc, but I think that an opposite side would be best equipped for tools, wire ties tape, spare prop etc. You know, Wayne, the REAL necessities. ?;^ ) |

RATS!!! Due to the enormously hot weather and extremely high humidity, the glue on the waterproof carpet glue isn't curing as planned. especially due to the high humidity, it's just kinda sitting there. Oh it's curing OK, but a lot slower than expected. Heres the stuff we're using: http://www.menards.com/main/store/20...OCAX_B0963.jpg This is kind of a set back due to other projects we could be doing on the boat if the carpet was solid. Oh well.... |

What did you decide about the seat base. I'd think building one would be pretty simple, if you had the time. There used to be van conversion shops around which sold table tops, etc, etc. Seems something like that might make a nice base for the seat, with some reinforcing, and would have rounded corners. Maybe marine plywood with a coat of polyurethane would work, with appropriate bracing of course. Sorry about the glue. |

We're planning on building storage boxes for the seats and mounting the seats on a swivel. we'll see how that goes for one, and if it seems to be a good deal, then I'll get another swivel for the other side. If not,t hen we can always bolt them solid to the box. My carpenter buddy is really prone to heat exhaustion, so he's taking on some indoor work for people at the moment. If it cools down a bit like it did today, we'll be back at making the boxes. I already picked up a low-profile cooler like they have in the pic. And will probably build out of outdoor plywood (DryPly) and carpet over.... It'll come together....eventually |

We finally, yesterday, had a thunderstorm come through that came over our place. Got more than an inch of rain and today is quite nice. Of course this weather isn't coming your way. Today I get to sit in the dentist's chair for another root canal. Lots of shots in the roof of my mouth. Gotta love it, especially the shot between the top teeth and the top lip. That's just a great place to have a needle stuck in your body. Gettin' old is such a joy. |

I've had a shot on that same place and it's a real winner! makes you feel like you getting electrocuted. Glad you finally got some rain, John. then hopefully a cool front will come through and the grass will take off. in the next couple of days it's supposed to get boiling hot again here... Eh...it's almost August. |
