Default Feds to Mandate Black Box on all New Cars

Who gave NHTSA or anyone else permission to conduct surveillance on us,
American Citizens?
I must have missed that vote to rescind our Constitution.

Eventually that black box will be connected directly to the IRS for
monitoring and taxation...

Don't worry. They know all about you already. They're watching right
now. Go hide under your blankey. We'll tell you when it's safe to come
out.

I won't have to worry about it. Presently I'm driving a 1990 Mercury
Wagon and a 1995 Lincoln Town Car , and I'll probably by a 2011 model
car in what 2030?

You let them take the ower to do these things they will do them. Not at
first, such as has been the case of boiling the frog slow, so far.
Itt has already been proposed that when stopped a cable be plugged into
the recorder and speeding tickets, run red lights, crossing double
lines, spinning tires, flipping off the cop, number of time, seat belts
unfastened, plus road use tax for distance travelled be assessed at that
point. Plus liked with a gps, either internal or on the dash, will quote
where the offenses took place. They simply link the black box to a
signal cable to the Trooper's car or even broadcast it to RedFlex or
other compnay to send you summonmes and bills and of course report your
travels and stops to Big Brothers data base.
Sound paranoid. Like I say if you give them the ability they will use it.

I figure my Moto Guzzi and the pickup will last until I die. But, in order for socialism to be all
it can be, the government has to be able to track its people.

My brother-in-law picked up an '87 Jaguar sedan last fall. He's having it
restored as we speak.
He's already gone out & bought a driving cap and driving gloves but will
need a new Harris Tweed sports jacket to complete the look.
I was trying to talk him into joining the local chapter of the British
Automobile Touring Assoc.

When you start taking seriously the crackpot crap on loonytarian sites,
are you as cracked as the pots there?

The device under discussion is not for surveillance if by that one means
"watching" a driver or where he or she goes. It is for recording info
about speed, brake application, et cetera, and might be helpful in
turning up car defects in case of an accident.

You are simply too simple minded to grasp the negative implications of
the use of the "black box" On board computers are already capable of
doing what you allude to. So ask yourself why another
monitoring/recording device? Start thinking out of the box for a change.
