OK, so you got laid off due to Obamanomics so you figure you'll get in
some fishing, take the boat out and enjoy some of that time off. *You
go to fill her up and WTF, gas is $5.00/gallon, another causualty of
Obamanomics. *While filling up you notice that your gas now has 15%
ethanol made from corn under Obamanomics, crap, no wonder breakfast
cereal is nearly $5.00/box. *When you calculate your vehicles mpg, you
notice it has dropped, time for a tuneup? *No, another casualty of
Obamanomics, ethanol reduces fuel efficiency.
So, how's that Hope and Change going?

We just had another big race team drop out completely. The father said
"well, my kids want to play football instead, and it's a hell of a lot
cheaper than motocross". Nobody is racing "full seasons" this year
knowing well that by the end of the season Obamanomics might put gas at
6 bucks a gallon and there is no way they will be able to finish the
season and be a contender. On the other hand, very wealthy teams
(parents) will be able to buy a quick championship by simply getting to
all the races. We are splitting hauler fees with another local team and
went to the practice track yesterday in one tightly packed truck... We
are pretty sure our sport is screwed if this ethenol scheme along with
the green hoax, is going to destroy a lot of our sport...

How much fuel does one bike hold? One or one and a half gallons? It
doesnt seem like that much.

Typical fuel for race day...

Hauler 20-30 gallons regular at lets say, 4 per gallon for the truck and
generator, and another two gallons race fuel at about 10 a gallon. You
also have some folks who have haulers running 30 gallons each way as
many of the races are between 4-6 hours away. Then you have the parts
and the inflation at the tracks.

Ok, so in the past you could pinch during the week and between supplies
and race fees you could do a race day with a privateer pickup for as
little as 150 a day, 300 a weekend but you had to skimp... This year,
the folks are skimping and still spending that 150 extra a week set
aside for racing, on food and fuel for the family and don't have it for
the weekend... When the economy gets this bad, your vacation time and
expensive hobbies are the first thing to suffer. In our case we just
keep on going though, as it's not a hobby for us...

" Race Fuel " ??? Why not just buy 108 Octane Boost, and add it to
the gas ? Or disolve a Mothball in the gas, that works too.

I didnt seriously think that those little engines used Avgas. (thats
hi test up here)

Half 93 octane, and half 110 Sunoco... We went back to stock pistons so
we don't have to run it but most folks at least have compression pistons
if not more so they do or they will blow up.

Find a less expensive hobby. Better yet, buy that kid of yours a riding
mower and let her earn some of the bucks she'll need to get through
college. I'm pretty sure motorbike racing is not a recognized collegiate
sport with the accompanying athletic scholarships. Hell, man, tuition,
room and board at UConn is at least $20,000 a year for an in-state
student by now. That's $80,000-$100,000 for a degree from a good state
university. She's not going to get that sort of money rising around on a
motorbike.

Harry thinks if you don't play a collegiate sport or have a daddy that
can buy you into a midwest outhouse to keep you out of Nam, you can't go
to university at all..snerk

No, stupid, that's not it. But if you excel in recognized college
sports, you can get an athletic scholarship. Not for motorbiking, though.

And once again you demonstrate your ignorance and stupidity.

Once again you demonstrate Tim's position about low lifes hunting for a
fight just to call names and insult.
