I have a plastic Metro card with about $18.00 on it. It'll get me from
Suitland Metro to downtown and back at least four times. Your
discharge from the marines wouldn't get me a cup of watered-down
coffee from MdDonalds.

Hey fella. Cherish that plastic metro card if that's all you have to
hang on to.

Seniority in a union just means you have managed to stick around for a
long time. It says nothing about the quality of your work or your
competency.

Seniority in the marines just means you re-enlisted.

Not really there is chain of command. A union slug gets seniority by
collecting more paychecks than the next guy.

Ah, so longevity counts for something? Why?

Looks like Wayne's playing the union seniority and schoolteacher tenure
card. Just sayin....
Naw! Just looked that way.

Seniority counts! I hold the door for the elderly. (now that's
snarky!)

I was on a construction site in Florida about 10 years ago, a new
powerplant, actually, when one of the major subcontractors called the
local union business agent to tell him he need five more workers
beginning the next day and continuing for a number of weeks.

"Send me the graybeards," I recall him saying, "I want guys who know how
to do it right the first time, without supervision."

When it is critical, seniority counts.

Seniority in a union just means you have managed to stick around for a
long time. It says nothing about the quality of your work or your
competency.

Seniority in the marines just means you re-enlisted.

Seniority in the military means you have been around and done quite a
lot of things. For officers if you make O-6 before 18 years in you are
on the fast track. If you haven't made it by 22 years you are just
marking time before you retire.

In the military seniority means you have been exposed to quite a bit of
stuff. My cousin is finally getting a battalion. He has been at NATO for
the last 18 months and he has been in Afghanistan for two tours and Iraq
for two tours. He is well on his way to O-6 and beyond.

Don't forget about enlisted time for us draftees!!

Take your political crap somewhere else.

You are really a pill. Take your nonsense crap somewhere else. You're
not the moderator and I'll say whatever I like. If you don't like it,
either don't respond or better yet don't read it.

Wayne is normally "cautious."
He stepped right into that one.
Must be something about you that really, really ticks him off.
Or maybe it's Arianna Huffington cashing in big time on capitalism.
Goes against his view that anybody not a right-wing ass-kisser must be a
"Socialist/Marxist."
Rude awakening, I think they call it.

I think he can't stand it when someone makes fun of all the "Ban"
posts with a rather mild rebuke. I think he's just got a lot of pent
up anger.

It must disappoint the likes of you, Krause, and JPS, that there are
many who actually enjoy life ie Wayne.

Don't care what you think. You can "remind" me all you want. Is that
contributing to your ideal of a boating related discussion? Seems to
me you're a hypocrite. I hope you don't mind it if I remind you of
that from time to time. Leave or learn to deal with it Wayne.

Of course you don't care, D'Plume. Wayne actually thinks. Unlike you
and your ilk that have nothing in this life to do but enjoy misery.

Yes, do tell. I'm not on any other newsgroups. But of course facts
don't really matter do they.

Not to you, they don't.

Opposite of you and JPS, Wayne doesn't seem to be one of anger.

I notice you don't "remind" the racists and obnoxious
morons here.

What is he to remind you of?
