A terrible tragedy
Let's turn down the vicious rhetoric and do what we can to handle
disagreements in a civil manner. Many people have stated that Palin's "Targets" were in bad taste and could be all the motivation for a mentally disturbed individual needs to push them over the edge, then these same people go out of their way to try to be more offensive then Palin's "target" rhetoric. Why is that? Why should one try to take advantage of a tragedy to highlight the perceived problems of those we disagree. I feel sorry for the loved ones of those hurt and killed by this madman. I feel more sorry for society that uses a tragedy to score political points. We will see this from both liberals and conservative unless we all say enough is enough. Isn't it time we all grew up? |

These problems aren't perceived. The rhetoric of violence is constantly promoted and stoked by Fox News and right wing radio. This obviously deranged kid was able to purchase ammo in one Walmart after being refused by another. I don't recall anyone shouting "kill him" at a Obama rally during the presidential campaign. Sarah Palin continually stoked the fire. We think we're so far from Nazis but we all saw the potential for idiots to act out during that campaign. This event is no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention. I, for one, am ****ing tired of this bull**** and the excuses the right uses to deflect responsibility. Meanwhile, not one of them are denouncing the violent rhetoric. No, right wing leaders like Limbaugh use it to further charge up his base, which happens to also be the base of the Republican party. Are we going to have open warfare in this country? |
