Default Mid Chesapeake Bay Conditions: 4:30 pm

Just got back from a tour of Deale and Chesapeake Beach.

The Bay looks like the ocean on a nasty day, with rolling whitecaps
coming in from the northeast (well, the winds are shifting like crazy).

There were only two or three boats left in the slips at Harbour Cove
Marina on Rockhold Creek where normally there are dozens. Dozens and
dozens of boats, including some commercial head boats of 40-50' that
normally are not berthed at that marina were up on the hard there.

The tide/surge at the moment there is still two feet below the bulkheads.

Chesapeake Beach was a different story, since it is directly exposed to
the Bay. There will be erosion. And Fishing Creek, where the marinas are
located, is suffering from high surge. There's a little marina there
with a boat ramp. The water is completely up the ramp and on the parking
lot of the marina.

From what I've heard, we're going to get the worst of it around 9-10 pm
tonight. I'm sure we're going to lose electric power here, probably for
several days. The electric co-op can barely maintain the juice at high
noon on a sunny day in July.
