They indeed were here to marginalize one poster, that is a fact, I do know the original spoofer quite well but he only spoofed for a day or two and was replaced by a much more prolific poster. I get the impression he was happy to step aside and watch... Quite frankly, maybe with the delicate touch of an Atomic Bomb, after all was said and done, it worked. Yes there was some collateral damage, and like any battle the "battle plan" went out the window on day one, but in the end, it worked. I have serious doubts that the target would be on board with the new policies of the oh so wise Great Sage of Zoar if he and/or his audience wasn't getting smashed into nonexistence by the spoofers... I have no idea what he does for a living now, even if he explained it to me. What we both know, though, is that I paid for about half his college expenses through the master's degree he got last May. I do believe, though, that "resolving" usenet IDs and finding out the actual names of spoofers would be something he could do while comatose. I've been toying with the idea of asking him to do so with a couple of the spoofers here, just for grins, of course. I wouldn't do anything with the information. Oh...the "original spoofer" was Tom.
