I have a few 12" ceramic floor tiles to replace and wonder if this tool would be a worthwhile investment. BTW I was lucky enough to find a wet tile cutter on sale at 66% off this week. I assume that you would use the MultiMaster to cut away the grouting between tiles? People seem to like them but I haven't tried one yet. There are a lot of reviews on amazon.com of both the MultiMaster and some of the competitors. The competition gets mostly weak marks on durability but might be OK on small jobs/occasional use. Yes, believe I saw some of those reviews. Up here, the version of the Fein tool available costs $400.00 (case and quite a few accessories) The Craftsman with six attachments ,,, about $129.00 less 20% this week. |

They are marketing medical technology to the "handyman" market. Those tools reciprocation/vibration are the same technology as surgical bone saws. I'd think they would be *very* controllable and probably a best tool to deal with cutting out grout..... snip.. Think I'll see if I can swing the professional grade stuff on my modest pension.... |

My tool boxes are full of Craftsman hand tools and I own a few of the older power tools. However, since they dropped the good/better/best marketing scheme, IHMO, the power tools they sell are cheap crap unworthy of purchase. The patent expired on the multitool is why everyone is copying Fein. Lots of the cheaper tools will be good for an occasional user. Will fail with the commercial high use stuff. Home Depot has a Ryobi multitool for less than $99 here. |

Well the gears are too fine and easily stripped, especially when you take their typical 3/8's drive ratchet and put a 2' cheater pipe on it's handle while trying to break loose a left-hand threaded bolt while thinking it is a right-hand. Well, at least it should have been! ?;^ ) |
