Most of you have this info in your head. But some of us aren't as
bright.

You do read your boat and motors manual...don't you??
You do realize that most manuals put out with a new boat aren't really
meant for a mechanic, don't you?
Duh!
Johnny is far from being a mechanic!
I would expect that most manuals supplied would cover normal care&
maintenance, including winterizing.
OK RTFM, the little book that comes with my 4 stroke EFI Merc says
Fill gas tank
Put stabilizer in tank
Remove float bowl, dump fuel and squirt in some stabilizer.
Remove prop and flush engine with it running 15 minutes(can you smell
the lawyers)
Change fluids
Squirt oil in spark plug holes and rotate it by hand, reinstall plugs
Store engine tilted down
Remove and store battery inside.
Herring asked here if he could use WD-40 as the oil to squirt in the
cylinder holes and whether he could use two stroke oil in the crankcase
of his four stroke outboard. This must be why he posts about travel
trailering, grandchildren, and the military.
Hey spoofer, you've stated here numerous times that you don't dare look
under the hood of your outboard.
