Yup if you give the big banks enough money they will let you live.

and if you dont, you die. the genius of the american right is that
they believe in a plutocracy, even when the middle class pays for it

Unfortunately they are still holding on to it and not actually
stimulating the economy with the money we gave them.
A huge chunk of it went to bonuses for the CEOs

like i said...a plutocracy. you just proved my point. but the right
will continue to tell us we can't regulate banks, need a smaller govt,
etc etc

Did we just have a role reversal?

How does it feel to be the capitalist pig? ;-)

Now get back over where you belong, you are starting to scare me. ;-)

hold on...let me hide my milton friedman books...

It is a beautiful day, I am going boating. Maybe things will be back
to normal when I get back.

just got back from a weekend on the boat. amazing what a great time
you can have on a 26' sedan cruiser

Welcome to the Dark Side Bob. It's nice to see George Bush given
credit for saving the banking system.

i agree; he and the democratic congress recognized what needed to be
done

Hey - gotta question for you. I came up on a Tollycraft for sale the
other day - had diesels, 671's in fact. Yours diesel or gas? I
didn't think they made a model with diesel, but apparently they did -
not a lot of them, but they did.

wow...diesels...that must have been some engineering job getting them
in there! i have a single gas engine...mercruiser 255...small for the
boat but it workds

Looks like a nice boat by the way. A friend of mine is very
interested in it.

tell you what, i love the tolly...very sweet boat. the sedan cruiser
configuration is very nice...won't go back to an expresss...like being
in a bat cave

Same model as Bob's? Can't imagine 671's in a 26' boat.

43'.

They built a huge number of 43's with diesel engines, also 44's.

Gas engines are rare in those models.

They were built on the West Coast right? I was given to understand
that the diesels were rare, but thats maybe on the East Coast. I know
of two Tollys that have diesels - both 43' - the rest of them are gas
- well the ones that I know about anyway.

Nice boats though. I've been on one based out of Niantic - tuna trip
about five/six years ago. Very nice ride.

Substantial hull, good deadrise and all the woodwork is glassed in.
They must have favored the gas engines on the east coast. Anything
north of 40' in these parts are mainly diesel. 3208, 671 or Detroit
8.2.

They were built in Longview, WA. About 2 hours south of Seattle. Big
following in these parts. I still have designs on a 43 or 44 when the
time is right.

I hear you. I don't know - when we get back from Florida, and
assuming Mrs. Wave likes the idea, we'll look around and if I can find
one, maybe.

Detroit 8.2T - that's an interesting engine. A lot quieter than the
671 turbo - you can actually hear the turbo when you kick the throttle
up. :)

Something I need to look into is power options. I've never owned an
inboard of any type and, to tell the truth, don't know a lot about
them other than types and such as that.

The nice thing about inboards is that you get to work on them indoors.
Plenty of room in the Tolly engine room of the 43 or 44. The 44 is
the 40' Sundeck I owned plus 4' of cockpit. The 43 is a tri-cabin
design.

Tolly took Monk's design and coupled it with a great hull and very
good materials and excellent craftsmanship.
