I am on my way to the dealer to get a timing belt for my old Prelude.
That was $1000 a couple years ago(I passed). They are going to do it
for $560 today with a coupon. The parts are almost $200 and it is a
miserable job on a Prelude (there is no wheel well cover to remove,
the strut support is right there). Those boys are hungry.

I haven't been following the auto industry closely lately. I did dump my
Ford stock a couple of months ago. I'm afraid to look to see if that was a
bad decision.

This pretty sums up the sentiment I am hearing about the GM IPO. This is
just another ploy by Obama and his gang to give it to us up the ol' Hershey
Highway.

I feel for them.. I thought I was gonna' have to do a waterpump on my
wifes Eclipse, even a couple guys who do work on the side wanted nothing
to do with it.. and one of them has a full setup in his garage with
lift, parts washers, presses, etc... (not that you need a press for the
job). Turned out it wasn't the pump, thank God...

Wonder what it would cost her to replace you for a man who had an actual
job... $1.98 plus a book of S&H Green Stamps?

That's too much for Skunk Head. A bag of Mike & Ike, and a bottle of
Woo Hoo.

Idler pulley?

Radiator At first I put a cardboard under and the dripmark suggested
pump area but the glycol was traveling down a shroud, whew! I don't
climb under cars without a lift, we lost a friend a few years back when
a car slipped off the dolly and he was alone.

If you sold it in early July ($8-9) don't look. You will cry. If you
caught the $13-14 on both sides of that dip you are OK. It is trading
in the 12s today. I missed the big jump but I did get some bucks out
of it from $8 to $12 before the July dip. I had a stop loss that
traded on the way down. There was more money to be made but it is hard
to hit bottoms and tops. (AKA time the market). Nobody ever went broke
making a profit tho. Take what you can get.

I did OK on that one but you don't win them all, unfortunately.

Congress and losers buying everything foreign destroyed the economy.

where's your proof?

Examine imports of the U.S. and exports. For 40 years the U.S. has become a
colony of places like Japan, Korea and China, shipping raw materials
overseas and receiving finished products. The statistics are readily
available even for you, Do your OWN homework. Perhaps you are too young to
remmeber when automobiles, castings, forgings, steel, electronics, small
home appliances, tools and dies, engineering and literally thousands of
other items were "the economy."

All
you want is governemnt to control/enforce wages, but prioces will then
need
controls also. EVERYTHING is supply and demand

wrong. we have a command economy managed by wall street to maximize
its own benefits

Up your Thorazine dosage...political party blather.

- cell phones and bottled
water are outrageously priced becaseu the market is willing to pay.
Wages
are EXACTLY the same, when labor, engineers, programmers, managers,
factory
rats etc. are not needed, their price (wages) go down.

wrong. if that were the case EVERY country would have the same profile
as the US in terms of wages

Japan, Korea and China are not inundated by shoddy foreign merchandise, they
are much brighter than U.S. political criminals and the lardass U.S. public.
Skilled and educated workers are needed there; not so any longer in the
U.S.

so you're WRONG

If demand ever returns for U.S. produced products (unlikely) demand for
labor, engineers, programmers, managers, factory rats etc. will rise as
well
as the wages to attract the same.

Lot's of trouble in logic class?

guess you never heard of evidence, huh?

oh. you're right wing

More TV show idiocy - think for yourself, watch what has occurred over the
past 30 years......political criminals will not, and cannot "help" you.

Sure you did. I hate to put up an ugly fact, but Bush was pres in 2005.
Yet,
you blame Obama. I wonder why. (Actually, I don't wonder.)

You probably spends hours everyday wondering what the hell your belly button
is.

I have never blamed Obama, I have numerous times pointed out that the
moronic masses that think he's the cure are incompetent. Straightening out
the behavior of the ignorant masses is not a presidents job any way. And
no, I couldn't care less that Obama's half black - I don't like most white
rednecks either.
