Default A fishing gift for herring

If you want to take all those grandkids out for a day of fishing and
exploring fun on the bay:

At the upper left is BP Marina. You know where that is.
Travel SE to Buoy 78. Just east of there is The Gooses,
a large manmade reef where one can typically find stripers, spadefish
and other interesting critters. It's a pretty popular spot, actually.

Further SE is James Island, a sliver of a pine tree island. If you go
around around it a few hundred yards away and approach it from the east,
you can pull right up to it and either tie your boat up to a tree or
anchor off the bow and tie the stern to a tree stump. Watch your
depthfinder.

There's nothing on the island but some trees and scrub brush. Nice place
for small kids to explore. The bottom when you get out of your boat was
sandy the last time I was there.
