My papers were in order. he doesnt know the difference between a license to operate a vehicle and having your papers to prove you're an american Since the feds passed "Real ID" that is going to be the same thing. The cop can use the unique ID number on the back of your license (buried on the mag stripe and in that dot code) and find out everything the government knows about you. That is why an Arizona driver's license is "papers", Arizona has no business determining immigration policy. It's a federal issue. |

The problem is the feds are not doping their job. As we have said several times here, states are already enforcing immigration laws. It is particularly true in Florida. I can't speak for others because I don't live there. This US v AZ is just a political move to get votes for the democrats in the mid term. The US is going to lose the case. I believe MMS was doping just fine. ![]() There's a difference between ENFORCEMENT and creating new laws. New laws are the domain of the Fed in this case. There are lots of things that the Fed screws up. That doesn't give states license to be creatively making new law. I'm glad you're able to predict the future. Can you tell us who'll be replacing Scalia? |

Your post had a small typo. ![]() There's a difference between ENFORCEMENT and creating new laws. New laws are the domain of the Fed in this case. There are lots of things that the Fed screws up. That doesn't give states license to be creatively making new law. There are thousands of state laws that mirror federal law., Are you saying a state can't have a law against kidnapping? No. I'm saying that AZ created a new law that doesn't just mirror Fed law. You can't even make a 14th amendment case since you do not have the right to violate federal law. They usurped Federal law. That's a no-no. I'm glad you're able to predict the future. Can you tell us who'll be replacing Scalia? I have been pretty good at predicting the future so far. I did say Goldman would come out of their case OK. They ended up copping to admitting they might have had better disclosure and gave the government part of what they made on the deal. |

She (a self-proclaimed lawyer) doesn't realize that Arizona is enforcing federal laws. Really moron? In that case, why did they pass additional legislation? You (a self-described moron) needs to smarten up. |

You (a self-described moron) needs to smarten up. I think they passed their law to differentiate Arizona from California that has sanctuary laws in place. I imagine the reason why Californians are so ****ed about this law is they know it will be their state that is absorbing a lot of these illegals and overloading your broke government's ability to serve them. I think they passed their law at the behest of people who prey upon people's fears. Many Californians are ****ed because we tend to be a more progressive state. I don't think we have to worry about a few people coming from AZ. We're a border state too. |
