Sure is easy to blame them! But those rich people, gotta give them all the breaks. Again you miss the point. If you rescind the Bush tax cuts, you also raise the tax rate of those people near the bottom. For example the 10% rate is gone, replaced by 15%, the same is true of all the rates. I have every tax return since 1983 in my files along with the 1040 book. Do we really want to run the numbers for some typical working class people before and after the current rates came into effect? I know my taxes are the lowest they have ever been and according to the people here I am "working class" not "middle class". My taxes would go up about $4000 if I used the Clinton tax tables. The Obama plan is to let tax cuts expire for those making over $250K. Do you make over $250K? If so, then yes, you're taxes will go up. However, the right wing would like everyone to believe that it will be an across the board tax increase, which is hogwash (unless the Republicans continue to obstruct meaningful legislation). |

The person I described is a victim as well. And, they are already paying more. actually they're not paying more. the US federal tax code is VERY SLIGHTLY progressive. and they're certainly not a victim like someone making the median income in this country of 60K It's the ultra-wealthy you are wanting to target. Income tax rates isn't going to touch them, but that doesn't fit in your rant. again, someone has to pay. the middle class is tapped out. we need to double capital gains. but the GOP wont let that happen...and that DOES fit into your rant |

A 35% swing isn't "slightly", no matter how you spin it. *and they're certainly not a victim like someone making the median income in this country of 60K They were victimized proportionally the same amount. Therein lies your liberal problem... it's tax, tax, spend, spend... whatever it takes to buy the votes. Someone else always has to pay. *the middle class is tapped out. we need to double capital gains. but the GOP wont let that happen...and that DOES fit into your rant For the last four years the house and senate have been under demoncratic control... but no capital gains change has happened. Look like the limo libs don't want it either. Else, they could have done it at any time. Tacked it on to the health care bill, right? |
