That's why the US Coast Guard requires adult an PFD to have a minimum of only 15.5 pounds of floatation. If you wore 200 pounds of flotation, you'd look like the Michelin Man. (c: Anyway, the safest pfd is the one you actually wear, so getting a comfortable pfd will enhance safety since you'll wear it more. I can't say what's going to be more comfortable for a particular person, all I can say is try them on to see what you like. My current PFD is a Stohlquist, and the one before that was an MTI.
