The Reps totaled 351,000 votes, the Dems over 500,000 votes in the primary. The main election will indeed tell. Not a chance in hell he get 75,000 votes that voted Dem. More likely moderate Reps will cross over to vote for the moderate Dem rather than the loonitarian. His rhetoric is "take our country back" which is white man code for "we ain't about to let them negroes run our country." It should be interesting to watch. It's really a referendum on Mitch McConnell. He must be quaking in his boots. Now he's trying to make nice with Paul. Sadly, if you look at Kentucky voter history, them thar Kentuckians tend to vote more heavily for Dems in the primaries, and then the Repubs scare them into voting Republican in the general election. Loonytarianism, though, might scare some moderate Republicans into voting Democratic. I don't see the Dems picking up that seat, though. -- The Tea Party's teabaggers are just the Republican base by another name. |

Long as we have this suck hole 2 party system we'll have the same insane partisan antics we have now with the bullies on the right and the limpdicks on the left. The DNC and GOP want you all to stay in line and you do it very well. Idiots on both sides have anyone that doesn't want to fit the mold labeled as nuts, crazy, loony, etc. |

Fortunately the people of PA don't have to make that choice. It was nice that he switched parties, and I suppose in the scheme of things he would be considered a moderate, but his behavior during the Thomas confirmation hearings, esp. his treatment of Anita Hill, was not something for which I and others could forgive. |
