I don't think so...he conceded and said he would work to help elect
Sestak. Sestak may be a stronger candidate in the general election than
Specter might have been. I was pleased with the results in the 12th
Congressional District in Pennsylvania, John Murtha's old district. The
GOP poured a million plus bucks in that district race and still lost.
And Bill Halter has a chance to turn out Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas.
If the good citizens of Kentucky want a loonitarian to represent them,
well, Rand Paul is their guy. :)

Bzzzt. Nope. That was for the Republican primary. He still has to face the
Democrat, and both of those got more than he got. So, in the vote count, he
came in third.

There's still a good possibility that he'll lose in the general election. He
actually came in 3rd in the votes.

If he runs on his previous statements and the nutso loonytarian
platform, he may well lose the general election. Still, kentuckians are
used to loonyfringers in their U.S. Senate seats.

The Reps totaled 351,000 votes, the Dems over 500,000 votes in the
primary.

The main election will indeed tell. Not a chance in hell he get
75,000 votes that voted Dem. More likely moderate Reps will cross
over to vote for the moderate Dem rather than the loonitarian.

His rhetoric is "take our country back" which is white man code for
"we ain't about to let them negroes run our country."

Sadly, if you look at Kentucky voter history, them thar Kentuckians tend
to vote more heavily for Dems in the primaries, and then the Repubs
scare them into voting Republican in the general election.
Loonytarianism, though, might scare some moderate Republicans into
voting Democratic. I don't see the Dems picking up that seat, though.

Fortunately the people of PA don't have to make that choice. It was nice
that he switched parties, and I suppose in the scheme of things he would be
considered a moderate, but his behavior during the Thomas confirmation
hearings, esp. his treatment of Anita Hill, was not something for which I
and others could forgive.
