Trawlers can go 8-9 kts. Do trawlers owners think that is slow? If you could go 15 kts for days, would that be slow? What I am asking is: Am I likely to be impatient no matter how fast a boat goes? Would your expectations of where you can go increase as your boat speed does? How many people think their power boats are too slow? I meant "5-6 kts", not 56 kts, 56 would truly be fast My boat does about 35 knots. *But the jet drive ferry boat from Barcelona to Majorca does 52 knots. *Made me want a faster boat. *The problem with the really fast boats is the cost per mile. *Buddy is in to offshore raceboats. Lunch run up the river burns about $150 for the gas. *And that is not a long run. *Dual 510 CID engines are thirsty. Bill, the last time I took the ferry from Tiburon to SF, going there was the usual ferry. Coming back, it just so happened that I got on one of the catamaran ones, and that thing MOVED! |
