If you know someone good at welding stainless steel they can probably make it good as new. It might be worth taking it to them at least for a ball park quote. ------ Tim, might check a local vo tec school that teaches welding or high school shop class. Probably get it done for a donation of wire or whatever else that they are short. Thats a cool idea, but the best Jr. that has a good welding and machine class is about 60 mi. away. But I know the dude that teaches the class. Now that's an idea! ----- Hope it works out, win- win for all. You get your rail fixed and the class gets needed supplies.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Yeah, I'll see what they can do. The instructor of the shp class will know, and soon when the weather breaks and i can get it out to work on it, I'll take some pics of it and send it to him and see what he says. This bow is a bit wide to transport as a whole, but I think it can be broked down at the pulpit joint and then take them both halves. If it seems like it would be too much of a job or wil take quite a while, I'll cleat the boat and donate the other materials to the shop class. It's not that I need it, but it would look better on there, I imagine. But then again, I dont'have it off yet to see. But thanks for the ideas. |
