I'd rather somebody else buy it and watch and see how it holds together, or ....falls apart. Tim, notice how long it took? Liberal=bad right from the very beginning from John, then insults to others from Scotty. Yeah, you can stick your nose in and judge that. I have made about 5 defensive posts here in the last few days. All have been "in response" to dozens and dozens of repub bad, lib good posts from NDP and JPS... If you can't count, or won't count and read, you really should hold your powder. I guess it's only fair to Loogie if me and Tim sit here and listen to Harry and JPS slam our beliefs, our states, our apperarnce, and everything else they can. So Loogie, what number would make you happy. Should we wait till we have 40 attacks against our belief system before we fight back instead of the usual 30? Scotty -- Can I haz Cheezeburger? I guess you haven't notice my many, many responses to Harry's crap on the other side of the fence, huh? I've said over and over and over, it sucked when Harry and JPS were doing it, and it sucks when you, John, Jim, etc. are doing it. **** it. I tried to take a peek in here in the hopes it's improved. It's only gotten more assinine. Yeah, with Harry, Slammer, and WF3H mostly gone, it's gotten worse... Guess we know where you stand... snerk Scotty -- Can I haz Cheezeburger?- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - AWWWWWWWWWWWW SCOTT! ?8^ 0 |

Anyone know anything about it? Is this something we should run out and buy as our new boat hauler? It is a way to fight socialism, after all. If you mean fighting socialism by buying Ford and not GM or Chrysler, I would agree. *Besides, there is a reason Ford is #1 in trucks. Why, absolutely! Mine is a F150 Lariat 5.4L gas, perfect for what I use it for, but know if I had a heavy boat I would do a F350 diesel in a heartbeat. *One of the last few decent American made vehicles left actually. If we move up to something bigger, it would probably be an F250. Don't need anything more than that, as long as it had a good diesel. People, When it comes to rucks, I'm still a fan of the tried and true Dodge with th Consolidated Diesel " Cummins" They're sill doing a fantastic job. My brother has a 2003 and has pulled horse trailers all around the US. plus using it for farm wagons and impliments. and has have very little hassles outside of normal service. OPh yeah, it's got all most 300,000 mi. on it now. He just got through replacing the $80.00 power steering pump. I still think that Dodge has a winner.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - "rucks" "th" "Oph" Man, If you can make it though that train wreck you get a medal! ?;^ Q |

Really isn't much difference between a F250 and a F350 other than spring blocks and official factory ratings. But, depending on what you are towing, you need to make sure the rating (even if it's just on paper) is high enough to be legal. Eisboch Something along the 25-28 foot fifth wheel. As I mentioned, the differences between the F250 and F350 are minor and mostly on paper. No point in spending the extra $$ for a F350. I suspect a F250 will be more than enough for a fiver in that size range, but don't take my word for it. It's been awhile since I did all that investigation. Eisboch |

Unless you can afford to park the hauler and use it only for your camping trips, you're stuck driving this big freaking vehicle around all the time... including when camping. With the class A, you drive it to/from your destination. Then you drive your towed vehicle around, and it can be anything fun/economical/ cool that you want. Plus you can make sandwiches, the wife can go to the bathroom and dry her hair while going down the road. While not camping, the behemoth is parked. Unless you need that F350 for something else, I don't see the upside. But that's me. |

The motorhomes are just too much for the amount of travelling we'd do. -- John H "A government policy to rob Peter to pay Paul can be assured of the support of Paul." -- George Bernard Shaw |

Ford's new diesel engine... I remember when....
"YDOD" wrote in message ... I can still remember Ford's "quiet man" campaign where they got rich people who owned super luxury cars to drive a Ford and then say how much quieter it was than their own car. I wonder what happened to that concept. Hardly fits in with the Pinto gas tanks and the Explorer tires does it. I remember those ads. They were associated with the introduction of the 1965 Ford models, which was a total re-design from the older frame and body design that had existed from 1960 until 1964. The ads included audio measurement gear that actually showed that the '65, full sized Ford was more quiet than a Mercedes or Caddy. They were. Those Fords were a revolution in lower cost car design that rode well and were quiet. Too bad the frames rotten out in a few years, but that was a minor detail. Eisboch |
