At least half my father's customers were union members...mostly highly skilled factory workers who built helicopters, trucks, ships, armament, machine tools, and civil servants, like cops, firemen, and teachers. You know, the men and women who built America and made her strong. Not lumps of **** like you. You avoided the message - what's new? So he ran a non-union business. Good for him! He was allowed to make his own decisions and not pay a premium for substandard workers. That would help explain his longevity and success. Too bad you didn't learn from him and just simply cashed out and ended his legacy when he died. Did the demand for boats, motors, and service/repairs die with him? I doubt it. You were incapable or unwilling to take over the company and took the easy way out. If half of what you said about him is true, he was probably an interesting, and intelligent, man with a vision that you squashed with an auction. Who's the lump of ****, Harry? It's certainly not me. Yeah, *you* are a lump of ****, Krueger. I had and have no desire to run a retail business. There was no auction. I took a leave of absence from my advertising/marketing career in DC, returned to New Haven for a few months, and sold the stores' merchandise out to the bare walls. I formed a partnership with our family lawyer and accountant, and we redeveloped the main store's land into a nice little shopping center, which we all still own. It's been a moneymaker for decades. The marina's land-little store-and slips were sold to a real estate developer. No regrets here. |

Boat motors, Briggs& Stratton, Harley Davidson, as well as ... lawn mowers. And probably a bunch more... Quite a guy! Remember now, Harry's father was great friends with Evinrude....... snerk Didn't Harry's dad and old man Evinrude cross the Atlantic in a small skiff to a Fireboat welcome in NYC! Or was that some retired POTUS, or something. I forget. It's funny how Harry used to be able to tell these stories and nobody could debunk them. It was a wild time for him, huge internet audience, no proof... Then came Google, and Harry's world fell down around him as dozens and dozens of his lies got laid on the table. I know he tries every day to get the OG posters out of here so he can forget his embarassing folly but it will never happen. We will always here to expose what he is to the new posters. Or his own sockpuppets (NDP) among others... Scotty D'oh. My parents knew Ralph Evinrude. For several decades, my parents attended annual parties Evinrude held for the corporation's highest volume outboard motor dealers. These were not huge parties. You see, Snotty, my dad was a reasonably successful businessman who owned and operated a boat store and later a boat store and marina. This differentiates him from your dad, who apparently accomplished nothing. Apparently the same is true for your moron boddy loogy's father. What do they have to show for their existence on this planet? You and loogy?- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Apparently they have more to show for their existence on this planet than yours! I don't have to make up lies for my parents! As usual, I have to see harry's posts second hand. And... and usual, harry doesn't address the post directly. He simply attacks, making completely unfounded accusations about peoples fathers. Typical, typical, typical harry response. --Mike |

I don't care much for Harry, but he knows quite a bit about Evinrude. Problem is when he says anything, he gets jumped on by the big ego guys who can't just ignore him when he says something they don't like. Which is all of the time, even if it's about boats. Loogy and Scottty won't let a boat conversation happen. Loogy will jump right in about the lobsterboat every time. Scotty will say something like "Why hasn't Harry been killed?" Then everybody is getting spoofed by the big egos who are after Harry, so you don't even know who's who. They just can't ignore him. I'm about to give up. They even spoofed Richard. Probably because he dares to talk to Harry. Richard can handle Harry easily. Ole Evinrude was a great American success story. He's responsible for much of OB boat design because of his innovation and drive. Would somebody else have done it if he hadn't? Who knows. Thanks for the thread. |

Harry and his father are great American Hero's Whoever you are, whether jps or slammer or somebody else, how about talking about Evinrude and your experience with them? My earlier spoofing is done. I see where it led, and I don't like it. No, I'm not apologizing. Let Harry apologize for all the rot he's spewed here. So, it's your move now, jps, slammer or whoever. It's already 64 degrees down here, and I've got some chores to do on the RV. I'll leave it you for now. Don't matter to me none. |

man, what happened to the Evinrude thread? Sorry about my other post. That's the problem with spoofers, they take a good thread and turn it away. Rude to the topic poster. Never saw you rude to anybody, so you sure don't deserve that. Here's something you might like. The newer one has a sweeter tone. A guy on the Mississippi with the newer one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWz1qPDu_IM Here's a guy down here. Older and simpler yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrWD9d2Wfpg Makes you think about how simple these motors were. These guys know them up and down and inside out. But not much to learn. Remembering if 3 things with 3 settings each have to be right to start her up and keep her running. You got 1 right way to do it and 8 wrong ways. So if you don't remember the right settings it's going to average about 4 1/2 tries to get it right. That's why folks have trouble. You got to know your settings. |
