Nowadays, anyone who works is deemed rich, so, yes, the republicans cater to the rich. really? capital gains taxes were about 38% when reagan took office today after 30 years of the GOP, they're down to 15% when's the last time the middle class had a 50% tax cut? Apparently, there are a lot of "rich" people in MASS who voted Brown in. The Dems, on the other hand, cater to illegal aliens, lazy ne'er do wells, shiftless welfare cases, lazy *******s, and everyone who wants to increase their monthly bucket of free cash and cheese from the government but won't work. I'M ENTITLED! WHERE'S MAHHHHH CHECK? you're right. let's reserve socialism for the ultra rich. the middle class deserves nothing but the bill The capital gains tax applies equally to everyone. The "middle class" can buy and sell securities just like the "ultra rich". I'll bet this year the capital gains tax is small because most of the gains will be used to cover previous years' losses. Obama could make a lot of folks happy by doing away with the capital gains tax this year. Probably wouldn't cost the government much, but he'd make a lot of folks think he was doing something really special. -- John H All decisions are the result of binary thinking. |

Ugh, who I voted for;) Scotty Personally, I think the Republican Party is still dead in the water. There is considerable anger at the Democrats ineffectual administration, but you make a big mistake if you think that translates to happiness with Republicans. It doesn't. Take a look at Scott Brown. He should be a new model for the Republican Party. A man who is fiscally conservative, with a social conscience, but he won't be. Instead, the Republican Party will cater to it's fundamentalist Christian base, with a few racist fossils like Herring thrown in. Just look at the numbers, 20 to 25% of the population doesn't make a national party. It's a shrinking and dying demographic. Unless Republicans become more inclusive, their ideas will not be heard. They will continue to wither away. I hope all of you Harry wanabees maintain that attitude. -- John H All decisions are the result of binary thinking. |

How long was that seat liberal-democrat? 46 years or more? Well, tells you what people think about Obamanomics, liberal corruption-debt-spend and liberal health care tax grab. Obama's honeymoon just ended with one year in office. One year of Ombama has democrats voting republican. LMAO. Some democrat aught to email this to Obama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiM6JAQZwHI The Dems can still put the bill through with the "reconciliation" clause which requires a vote of 51, so the fat lady hasn't sung yet. It WILL be interesting now to see the tap-dancing and posturing of Democrats who are up for re-election. Some have already declared, "I'm out of here" and won't be running. They are smart men who know they can take their spoils and retire comfortably. The greedy and stupid will stay, and take what they get. An armed insurrection is in order to clean the Halls of Congress. Steve You really ought to run for congress, Steve. I don't know anyone in rec.boats who has a better take on things. We really need to promote people who don't have big lips, bulging eyes and nappy hair. I'm with ya when you decide to run. Nice spoofing Harry, except your writing style and sore ass shines through the camouflage. Sorry, ****-for-brains...not one of mine. I've been...busy. My new photo printer arrived late yesterday, and I've been occupied setting it up, calibrating my monitor and loading in various paper profiles. I suppose I could have bought a golf club, but the printer was more expensive. As always, ESAD. Do you know what a good driver (golf club) can cost? Enjoy your new printer. You should be proud! Callaway Diablo. Probably get three or four new printers. Printers don't come with graphite shafts. But then, Callaway drivers don't come with WalMart stickers. ~snerk~ -- John H All decisions are the result of binary thinking. |

Denial is more than just a river;) But you just keep thinking that, hopefully the democrats won't learn anything from this and will continue trying to steal as much money from us as possible until November... Oh no, it's a wake up call that the Democrats ignore at their peril, and yes, there are lessons to be learned. Now, while you are all giddy, let me know the lessons you learned from New York 23? It has been a long time since Massachusetts has elected a Republican Senator. All the way back to the late 1960s, when they elected Edward Brooke, IIRC. New York, 23, *had* been Republican, however, since the 1800s. Again, lessons learned? |
