Default Skipper's Dream Boat - Serious Long Range Cruiser Available

Harry's nemesis, "Skipper". The Skookum 53 is one of the boats that
Skipper lusted after from the bridge of his arm chair sailer in Derby,
Kansas.

This boat is the real thing. I met the former owner several times
and he and his wife took great care of it, and did some really serious
cruising, including several trips to Trinidad. It has a fuel range
of about 5,000 nautical miles and is hell for stout. The previous
owner before that went around the Horn twice with it, and cruised it
over 50,000 NM.

Ahh...Skipper...the only rightie in the existence of rec.boats who on
occasion could turn a decent phrase.

Interesting lines, but that old 53-footer has a plastic hull and draws
nearly 8' of water. If I were going to buy a slow boat to see the world,
I'd want a steel hull that drew a lot less water.

She's a beautiful boat.

I wonder if Eisboch is looking. That price seems pretty reasonable if
she's in good shape.

I have his phone number, if you want to call him.....

Don't think so, last time you resurrected him was not a good thing.
