I got new socks that I can wear on the boat.... Got a new sheepskin pad for the motorcycle, so I'll be comfortable if I decide to ride the bike to the boat. Oh, and a new pocketknife that'll work for almost anything on the boat. Glad to hear about your socks! Got a pack of 2 LED flashlights. One red, one blue. That way you can them apart. They use 3 AAA batteries, nestled sideways in a plastic harness inside. Bright, but LED light looks a bit strange. Nice size, about 4 inches long, a little over an inch wide. Lanyard equipped, a rubber push button on top for on/off. Looking forward to using them. Hoping for a power failure in fact. --Vic |

One setting, regular bulb, one setting LED, one setting red bulb. $12.95 IIRC. Three AAA Steve |

For camping, I have a crank type LED with 8 bulbs, I love it. Aside from the whirring noise bothering some campers here and there, it never needs batteries, used it all season and never had to worry about it. I got a feeling everybody will get used to them, and we'll end up with them lighting our houses when production costs come down. I've heard they're real efficient. --Vic |

I'm sure some light spectrum analysis could qualify the "weirdness." But I won't go there. Personally I like incandescent. Warm. Want to argue vacuum tube versus transistor sound? You can find somebody to argue with. --Vic |
