Don't be so quick to paint all Christians with that broad brush.

Wow, and in my 50 years I have never met one, much less heard of one
trying to shut down my celebration... hummmmmm...

Me neither. But Gene has many living right around his house. Do you
reckon he polls the neighbors to see which are Christians, which
prohibit anything to do with Christmas, which don't say "Merry
Christmas", and so on.

Must be hard to get all those questions answered.

Nah, it is quite easy. I have in-laws that constantly want to *save*
me with their particular twist on "the way the truth and the light." I
don't have to ask to get questions answered.... you folks are usually
pretty "in your face" about what your Lord and God demandeth other
folks shall know and follow.

I have a tree and mistletoe, they don't.... go figure.....

You're just hoping you'll get kissed.

Gene, I don't think most people here get the fact that the way we
celebrate Christmas in modern times has just about NOTHING to do with
Christianity.

You feel that way because you see Christmas as a tree and presents. You
are not qualified to judge Christians on this particular issue really,
your rhetoric along with Harry and Gene make clear that you don't
understand. Cool, no problem, next why don't you three old white guys *

How do you purport to know about whether or not I'm qualified to
remark on this or any other issue? As a matter of fact, my wife's
first cousin, Fr. Bryan yes, a priest, and also a REAL Dr. of Clinical
Psychology has had numerous discussions with me about this very topic.
Including the pagan aspect, and how the modern way of celebrating has
very little to do with Christianity. Hell, nobody even knows when
Jesus was born. December 25th? In ancient Babylon, the feast of the
Son of Isis (Goddess of Nature) was celebrated on December 25. Raucous
partying, gluttonous eating and drinking, and gift-giving were
traditions of this feast.

Google - anybody can use it.
A greater equalizer than the Colt .45 here.
Hey Duck, how's the golfing?
Still haven't tried that pizza joint you recommended.
But I will.

Golf is great, albeit in some people mind it's a useless waste of time.
I enjoy it, that's good enough for me. Played at 7:30 this morning
and teeing off again in about 90 minutes.

You had to mention pizza. Oh how I long for a Chicago thin crust pie.

Ummmm, thin crust, deep dish is the way we make 'em. I bet a 12 inch pie
of ours weighs several pounds. Lot's of meat and veggies. If you can see
the bottom, it's not piled deep enough;)

If you walk the course while playing, instead of riding in a cart, golf
is a great way to get some healthy exercise and even commune with a bit
of nature. Golf courses in places where nature can sustain them easily
are a good thing.

NO EGGNOG????

C'mon Gene, now thats going as bit too far!!!

I've got about 4 gallons of Praire Farms "Holiday Nog" (no alcohol) in
the freezer now. My son and I occasionally crack open a half gallon
in July, thaw it, shake it, and guzzle it. Just as good as the day it
was made.

Life is too short without egg nog, especially through the summer.
