Where exactly is vancoover.? I have no idea... on the other hand, Vancouver is the major Canadian city on the West Coast. It's where the people of Seattle go for excitement. I'm invited to visit up there (in the general area anyway) next August, which is a slow time for me.... not sure of the exact date yet. They live on Camano Island. -- Nom=de=Plume Go for it...they must have a half decent boat living in that area. Forgot to ask... seems like a nice place, but besides the state park and homes is there anything else there? -- Nom=de=Plume I've never been there... closest was the ferry from Vancouver to Vancouver Island. They do have a visitor site on the web. There's a Chinatown, a lot of "shoppes," beautiful shoreline vistas, interesting flora, mountains, ferries, according to my wife. -- If you are flajim, herring, loogy, GC boater, johnson, topbassdog, rob, or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting your time by trying to *communicate* with me through rec.boats, because, well, you are among the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster. As always, have a nice, simple-minded day. I thought Ms Plume was asking about that 'merican island between Seattle & Vancouver........Camano Island. |

It's not that far away. Camano is mid-way between Seattle and Vancouver. An excellent spot to be in August. You'll have to fight through the tourists in either city but it'll be worth it. Camano would be an excellent home base. |
