You'd thing the IRS would look at some of the folks right there on Capitol Hill....Charlie Rangall comes to mind, or most any other Democrat. He's not that well-off. The obvious one. -- Nom=de=Plume |

To start with, I like Rangel but I think he is in trouble, with cause. The question is not whether Rangel paid up when he was caught. It is why the guy who chairs the committee that writes the tax code can claim he didn't know what it says. He could walk 50 feet down the hall and talk to the guys who actually wrote the language in the tax code. That still does not address the lies he told on his financial disclosure statements. I think it may be time for Charley to retire to spend more time with his family. I never like it when someone is around the public trough too long. Time for new voices all around in Congress. -- Nom=de=Plume |

Perhaps not two terms, perhaps four for senators (if they can't get it done in 24 years....), perhaps five for House members (10 years is plenty and they need to be more in touch with people than senators), but I'm a generous person. -- Nom=de=Plume |

Term limits implies that we are too stupid to put the good ol boys out to pasture when they no longer respond to the wishes and needs of, collectively, we the people. Come to think of it, we need term limits as a safeguard against ourselves. Two terms is plenty for both houses. |
