U.S. most admired country globally: survey

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) – The United States is the most admired country
globally thanks largely to the star power of President Barack Obama and
his administration, according to a new poll.

Obama has nothing to do with it!!! GW Bush had the country on track
for a recovery just like he initiated the bank and wall street
bailout. I'm tired of this Obama getting all the credit.

Remember obama's statement. This is a greatest county in the world, but
we need to change it. i.e tear it down.

Keith, you gotta binary brain.

the right wing: perfectly happy with limitations. america has always
worked to be BETTER. to the right wing, that's useless. the rich are
already rich so what could POSSIBLY improve?

Meanwhile, back in the real world, due to that magnificent "Star
Power", 10% of Americans are out of work and cannot afford a cup of
coffee. WAY TO GO BIG O, Let's go for 20%. YES WE CAN.

Hey Froggy... the number of jobs lost every month is dropping just about
every month. Just about everyone is saying that it'll take a while to
turn around...

When you got 20%+ real unemployment, of course the numbers will be
dropping for new claims.

I suppose, but you can't deny the dropping numbers. Even if it's people
giving up, the line is going in the right direction.

If you don't change, you die. He never said "tear it down." That's just made

If the stimulus had worked we would be gaining jobs, not losing jobs.

It's not instantaneous... things take time to work. It's working.

I understand your are bitter, and have no knowledge of economics. We are
going and have been losing jobs for a lot more than 8 years, because the
Federal government is excessively overspending causing inflation in our
wages relative to the rest of the world, and over regulating business. GM
Black cars were painted in Mexico, as the EPA did not allow that paint in
the US. etc. Go take some basic business and investing courses at the
local Junior College. Most have free or discounted fees for the unemployed.

you mean other than graduate work in economics at lehigh university?

*We are

gee i guess that's why unemployment, before bush started to trash the
economy to plunder the middle class, was 4.7%, far below what
econommists used to consider 'full' employment

because the
Federal government is excessively overspending causing inflation

really? care to cite any data? what's inflation been running the last
few years? the fed, as nobel prize winner paul krugman pointed out,
has been fighting the last depression for 30 years.

wages relative to the rest of the world, and over regulating business.

uh...no. we have either the 1st or 2nd most competitive economy in
the world. sorry to burst your glen beck inspired bubble.

seems you've discovered grimms not only wrote fairy tales but
economics books as well.
