I don't get it.

Think 'bama and Wilson. The latter was being truthful. The former was
not.

You're talking about the jerk who yelled in the joint session? He's a
known
liar on several levels and he supported keeping the Confederate flag
flying.

Robert Byrd did the same kind of stuff, and he supported hangings.
--

John H

So, that makes Wilson's behavior ok? Sounds like some kind of rationale?

What does Wilson's 'support' of flying the Confederate flag have to do
with his telling the truth? Talk about rationale.

The big question is whether or not you 'get it' yet? If not, sorry. If
so, then nothing further is necessary.
--

John H

Firstly, he didn't "tell the truth." Secondly, it shows him to be what he
is... a racist.

If they don't like what you say, you are automatically a liar...

That was Cong. Wilson's answer I guess.

Sweetcheeks, you have your bloomers all wedged up. Lighten up.
Forget
about politics for a while. Tell us about your boating
adventure with
that older couple. After all you signed on here to discuss
boating,
didn't you?
That has to be the most sexist remark ever posted here.
Congratulations Flatulent Jim. You've finally discovered your
one true
talent.
I'm hoping he isn't going to make a corset remark. Sorry, stupid
pun.
It's strange that both you and Donnie find offensive a comment
about
bloomers, yet a comment such as the following is acceptable:

"He was the bendover and pick up that soap boy when he was in the
navy."
John, these guys are intellectually dishonest, why bother with
them?
Like my friend Joe said years ago.. "There are givers and takers in
this
world, these guys are takers"... Guys like this have no useful
qualities
in society..
I didn't say anything to Harry. He picked up on a comment I made to
Bloomers.
SORRY SIR!!!

I will drop and give you 20... uh, would you settle for say, 10 ??

snerk
I can remember when I could drop and do 20 in a heartbeat. Probably
couldn't do it any more. I just tried. Made it to 7. Whew.

I can do 10 pushups... no problem (yes, without using my knees). I
can't do pullups though. I get about 3/4 of the way and that's it.

Yabut. Can you clean fish?

Yeah, but why would I want to when I can buy it cleaned in a store?

You are not a fisherperson?

I eat way more fish than meat. I don't catch fish, but I cook them. I used
to be a total vegetarian, but it was too difficult.

Sometimes I wonder. I was actually interested in getting back to doing
some sailing, and I have this outing coming up next weekend.

Speaking of which, I know about layering. Do I need to wear something
special as far as footware goes? I know not to wear something that'll
scuff the deck, but should I go buy some boots or would tennis shoes
do?

Tennis shoes should be fine. Although, if you really want to impress,
get a pair of cheap boat shoes, for your feet of course, and a cotton
fishermans knit sweater to tie around your waist. Forget the white cap
with patent leather brim and crossed anchor emblem. That's just too
lubbery. Have fun and come back and tell us old salts all about it. ;-)

I have a bunch of ski clothes, so I think I'll just bring layers. My feet
get cold pretty easily, so I might just spring for the $50 boots.

Pansy!

Realist.

Here's some really good advice:

Call the folks with whom you'll be sailing. Ask *them* what they
prefer you to wear and what would provide enough warmth.

They probably have some good ideas.
