Tell us about your boating adventure with that older couple. After all you signed on here to discuss boating, didn't you? That has to be the most sexist remark ever posted here. Congratulations Flatulent Jim. You've finally discovered your one true talent. I'm hoping he isn't going to make a corset remark. Sorry, stupid pun. It's strange that both you and Donnie find offensive a comment about bloomers, yet a comment such as the following is acceptable: "He was the bendover and pick up that soap boy when he was in the navy." John, these guys are intellectually dishonest, why bother with them? Like my friend Joe said years ago.. "There are givers and takers in this world, these guys are takers"... Guys like this have no useful qualities in society.. I didn't say anything to Harry. He picked up on a comment I made to Bloomers. SORRY SIR!!! I will drop and give you 20... uh, would you settle for say, 10 ?? snerk I can remember when I could drop and do 20 in a heartbeat. Probably couldn't do it any more. I just tried. Made it to 7. Whew. -- John H I can do 10 pushups... no problem (yes, without using my knees). I can't do pullups though. I get about 3/4 of the way and that's it. -- Nom=de=Plume Ah... the good old days! I could do 20 with one hand and 70 or so good proper full arm...straight back/legs pushups. I should get back to it. |

Do I need to wear something special as far as footware goes? I know not to wear something that'll scuff the deck, but should I go buy some boots or would tennis shoes do? -- Nom=de=Plume If you plan on sailing frequently, I'd pick up a pair of boating shoes. the non-slip soles and the non-marking feature make them worthwhile. You probably don't need the $200. version some here like..... http://ca.binnacle.com/index.php?cPath=15_379 I'm sure you can do better price wise down there. |

Forget the white cap with patent leather brim and crossed anchor emblem. That's just too lubbery. Have fun and come back and tell us old salts all about it. ;-) |

I wear the Nike Mesh Sandals, look and fit like sneakers, dry like sandals.. Many manufacturers are carrying them now, I recommend them to everybody... Something like this: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...ductId=2823706 &cp=2367438.2367454.2866814.2866816 or look through these for the "sneaker styles".. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/fa...goryId=2867041 I love the support and footing these provide on the boat, or walking in and around shallow water. Good luck, and tell us the tales of the sea when you get back.. |
