Hard drives fail. Don't know much about ethernet chips, but OS's do fail for never determined reasons. Likely glitches that corrupt a file. I never get into that anymore because of my cloning strategy. Problem with OS? Restore from image. That would have told the tale for your son. If it didn't work you'd know you had a hardware problem, no ifs ands or buts. --Vic Oh, absolutely!! The first thing I do is get my OS and drivers off of the hard drive and onto CDs. |
