Pres. Obama will almost certainly be the D's candidate. It would be nice if
there was a viable R candidate. I don't see one on the horizon, but the
election is a long way off. It would also be nice to see a viable Ind.

Because it's traditional. Carter was a good example. He was clearly not
doing well, and Kennedy ran against him unsuccessfully of course.

I actually liked McCain, even though I thought he was too old-school. Then,
when his campaign went off the rails, it was just embarrasing.

Many believe Mormonism is a cult. I don't think that's the case, but in any
case it didn't help. My dealings with Mormons indicate to me that they're
fine people, generally honest, and they make great vetenarians.
