![]() "H the K" wrote in message m... No argument from me on any of your points. There's only good music or bad music; style or type of music does not matter. Same is true of musicians. I've made an interesting discovery in this new hobby/business. True musicians ... the artists.... are not concerned with the value of their gear anywhere near as much as the common trait they all have .... the search for "their" unique sound. My son and I picked up on this early and as a result are focusing our efforts on finding unique, quality instruments that appeal to that market, rather than the standard, run of the mill Les Paul Standards and the like that you find in Guitar Center and other large retailers. The PRS Archtop II I just acquired is a good example, as are the Rickenbackers and the Martins. A guy from Boston who plays professionally came in yesterday to try out one of the guitars we had. He liked it and went out to his car and brought in a beautiful, Deluxe Series Amercian Stratocaster. I had never seen a Fender like this. Top notch all the way, with an ebony fretboard, lockable tuners, special raise gold logo, two humbuckers plus two noiseless pickups. Body is stunning in maple with no pickguard. Top of the line, limited production Fender that is worth considerably more that the guitar he tried out and was interested in. Offered me a square trade, which of course, I accepted. It's the amateurs that haggle about prices. The artists just want their sound. Eisboch |
