Don't they remember the hours that they have sat on their boats on a windless summer evening. Do they think that the windmills will produce energy when there is not enough wind to move their boats? D'oh...there are many places where winds are reasonably available and reasonably predictable. A wind turbine does not have to operate 24-7 to make sense. It does to be a reliable source of energy. There is a narrow band of wind speeds where a windmill can operate. To high of speeds and the windmill suffers physical damage. To low and there is not enough energy to turn the prop. Why do you think windmills were abandon 200 years ago as a source power? The carbon capture program is designed to outlaw the burning of carbon based fuels. Its chemistry; for each pound of carbon burned about 4 pounds of Carbon Dioxide are produced. Or, if captured with lime, for every rail car delivering coal, 5 rail cars of carbonates will leave for disposal. Once carbon fueled energy is removed you Must replace it with a continuous, reliable energy source like Nuclear power plants. There are no practical alternatives to mass, continuous, reliable, power production. |
