Default boating on Mississippi

I don't know of any guides but their are plenty of marina's along the way.
Be careful as the water level is very low and the wing dams are dangerous
and often unmarked. Pay particular attention around mile 732 above lock 5A.
There is a curve in the channel that is not very well marked by buoys and a
57' Grand Harbour in route to Minneapolis recently went over the top of a
wing dam and nearly sunk their boat.

I have friends that want to boat from Savanna, IL, to Minneapolis, MN, on

the
Mississippi River in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know of a

sight
that lists the motels that are located on the river with docks? Thanks so
much,
Vonnie
