Tom,Computers on cars and large diesel equipment arn't cooled via special aperatus. So I don't see why they would be on a marine application. -------------------------- I recall reading that they are. * They are mounted on a heat sink that in turn is mounted on a surface that the heat is removed from by the engine's water cooling system. *The outboards don't have the ambient, convective cooling that cars and trucks have. There were some early, computer controlled outboards that had some problems due to inadequate cooling of the computer, although I don't remember which engine manufacturer it was. *I don't think it was Etec and whoever it was redesigned it to resolve the problem. Eisboch Heat is not a friend of microchips, that's for sure. |
