Default Looks like AOL is doing me a favor...

Dear bschnautz,

Last September we wrote to inform you that your subscription to
McAfee® VirusScan® Plus - Special edition from AOL would no longer be
a complimentary benefit of your membership. While your existing
software will continue to operate normally until its license expires,
we wanted to make sure your online security protection is not
interrupted.

We’ve negotiated a special price just for our members who upgrade to
our premium computer protection software - McAfee® Internet Security
Suite – Special edition from AOL. If you subscribe before June 15,
2009, you’ll pay only $34.99 -- a 13% discount off AOL’s already low
annual rate and a full 50% discount off the regular retail price.

* Faster start-up, shut-down, and scan times allow you to play
games, watch videos, and be productive on your computer without your
security software slowing you down
* Identity-theft protection helps you shop, bank, and trade stocks
online safely
* Network monitoring alerts you when intruders attempt to connect
to your home network

Plus, the newly released McAfee 2009 product changes the game on how
threats are identified. McAfee’s Active Protection technology can
analyze and block a new threat in seconds, rather than waiting hours
for updated malware signatures like other computer security programs.
This is important because a previously unknown virus can attack via a
Web site, e-mail or instant message as soon as you connect to the
Internet.

With more than 5,000 new online threats discovered every month, you
should not let your computer’s security protection lapse. Upgrade
before June 15, 2009 to take advantage of this special early upgrade
pricing.

Sincerely,

AOL Member Services

Wow, Special edition of McAffee, Special edition of AOL, first clss
treatment for only

$34.95.

Harry's so full of ****. McAfee used to be a hog, but it isn't
anymore. I've got it with my Comcast high speed, and it works great.
AVG free is very good stuff, but it doesn't protect nearly as well, or
nearly the amount of stuff that McAfee does.

OOOH! Looks like I can still keep mu AOL picutres, too! That would be
great if I had any but...

AOL, I'm suprised they haven't tanked already.

"Dear AOL Pictures User:

As we have described in previous emails, the AOL Pictures service
closed on January 8, 2009. But it is not too late to save your
pictures of your family, your friends, or those holiday memories.

We have made arrangements with our partner, American Greetings®
PhotoWorks®, to enable continued access to all of the images you had
stored on AOL Pictures, simply by registering for a PhotoWorks
account.*

Just go to AOL Pictures and choose to register for PhotoWorks today.
Registration is quick, easy and free. And after you register, you will
be able to view, share and print your images. In fact you can share
your pictures through unique gifts, including books, calendars, cards
and tons of other photo gifts from sterling silver jewelry to tote
bags and note pads!

Please register for American Greetings PhotoWorks today.

Sincerely,

The AOL Pictures Team

* Registration for a PhotoWorks account must be completed before June
30, 2009 in order to access any images from the AOL Pictures service.
After June 30, 2009, if you have not transferred your photos from AOL
Pictures to PhotoWorks, you will no longer be able to access them. ..."

Sounds good. Hell, I'm paying almost that amount every month!

Of course, I get McAfee free. It works well, keeps itself up to date,
and doesn't seem to affect performance any.

I've never (knock on wood) had a virus that I know of.
