Default Lordy, Lordy...

I was wondering why I couldn't find my favorite plastic worms anymore.

Now I know.

It's all related to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. I
hadn't caught up on my email for a few days and received a reply from
a friend of mine who makes custom lures and speciality terminal tackle
- apparently the CPSIA is impacting almost everything.

Terminal gear, lures, hard/soft plastics - even the paints/colors are
becoming scarce - nobody wants to get sued, nobody want to spend the
ridiculous amount of money to get items tested, etc.

I know it's a bit extreme, but what about fixtures on boats - most of
those are stainless steel, lots of lead on a boat, lots of stuff
prohibited by the CPSIA - this could really get sticky with respect to
boating.

Just received a notice here at our local marina in NJ that the DEP is
going to prohibit boat owners from either washing or rinsing their boats
when on the hard in the marina.

The noose just keeps tightening.
