I was wondering why I couldn't find my favorite plastic worms anymore.
Now I know. http://www.fslures.com/document_uploads/52_10_Facts It's all related to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. I hadn't caught up on my email for a few days and received a reply from a friend of mine who makes custom lures and speciality terminal tackle - apparently the CPSIA is impacting almost everything. Terminal gear, lures, hard/soft plastics - even the paints/colors are becoming scarce - nobody wants to get sued, nobody want to spend the ridiculous amount of money to get items tested, etc. I know it's a bit extreme, but what about fixtures on boats - most of those are stainless steel, lots of lead on a boat, lots of stuff prohibited by the CPSIA - this could really get sticky with respect to boating. |
