(Yuck, yuck, yuck) I wonder if they'll do it in pink also. I never underestimate the American ability to make a green car go faster. I knew a guy who had a V-8 Nash Metropolitan. It reminded me of the Gee Bee Model R of Jimmy Doolittle fame. I hope it was easier to drive than the GB was to pilot...... Not really. It was just scary. The center of gravity was way too high and the suspension was not really up to the weight, even with bigger springs. He built it as a winter project in his garage, lots of welding and work at the machine shop making shortened drive shaft, axles etc. He sold it before he killed himself. It was pretty cool though, sitting at a light with that 283 grumbling out of 2 cherry bomb glass packs then lighting up the tires as it disappeared into the distance. If you were around Oxon Hill or other places in Southern PG county (1966-7 or so) you might have seen it. Nasty Rambler green with a white top and fat rear tires. It would have been quicker if it didn't have that 2 speed powerglide trans. It was what he had. How coincidental. I was in OCS and my wife was in an apartment in Oxen Hill from August '66 to Feb '67. But, I got home only two weekends in the six months, and I don't recall that nasty Rambler. We had a dark green '65 Mustang six-cylinder which could carry everything we owned! Dennis Grove?
