It does remind me of when I lived out in the suburbs in a Cape Cod I built with my own hands. The lots were fairly long but only 80 feet wide. I had seen a rat at the bird/squirrel feeder in the back yard so I decided to blast it with my 22 cal semi-auto rifle from the 2nd story bathroom window. Didn't notice until after I plugged the vermin a couple of times that the neighbours were out in the backyard two houses over. I imagine I shocked them...lucky they didn't call the Mounties. Keep the muzzle of the gun as far back from the opened as little as possible window as you can. This will cut the noise of a 22 to near nothing outside the room. If you rest the gun on the right rung of a step ladder the right distance from the window, you only have to open it an inch or two. As for urban pheasants, you zero in on a pile of cracked corn. When the bird shows up, step up to the bench rest and pop him in the skull. The favorite round for poaching deer is the 22. As usual, I deny everything. Casady Casady |
