Default Not Your Father's Trolling Motor

Just got an EMAIL from Jamestown Distributors describing their new
line of trolling motors. The "2.0" model is claimed to have 121 lbs
of static thrust which is comparable to a gas outboard in the 4 to 6
hp range. There is also a "4.0" with 215 lbs of thrust, equivalent
to something like 8 to 10 hp. Unfortunately they are not cheap as
you might imagine:

I had a Cobra Kayak that I thought it would be fun to put a 35# Minn Kota
on.

What was I thinking?

LOL

You could always try the "Redneck Trolling Motor" I once saw being
used for a canoe, a DeWalt cordless drill with a paint stirrer on a
long rod in the chuck. It seemed to work well.
