Default For OMC experts

I have a 1988 Johnson GT 175. When the boat did not start up, I
suspected stale fuel and removed the drain screws from the 3 carbs to
drain any suspect fuel from the bowls. This is my question. One of the
the screws fell down into the opening around the shift shaft. I have
so far been unable to retrieve using mechanical fingers or a small
tube attached to my shop vac. Is there any harm with leaving the screw
there?

Thanks!

Barry
