"HK" wrote If it is a '95, it is a four-banger. It's the same engine Yamaha used to "brand" and sell as its own. West Marine has a service manual for it for under $40: http://tinyurl.com/amwc5h I don't know anything about the engine's "innards." I would change the impeller just for the hell of it, and the plugs, and make sure the oil injection was working properly. Have fun. Thanks. I have so much enjoyed owning boats at different times in my life. I had a recent windfall, and decided to put a wanted ad on craigslist. A guy called, and he just wanted it out of his garage. It has clear paper, and he wanted $1500. I paused about two seconds and said okay. Gonna send off for the manual, and wait for that before I fire it up again. The grandboys are gonna love it, and I'm going to also. It's a deep vee with flat floors and a good layout. I didn't think to ask. Maybe there's a manual in one of the lockers. Anyway, I'll know Friday. Steve |
