I wanted to just give away my old 1985 Nissan 4WD with 318,000 miles
but my wife insisted I try to sell it starting at $1000. I can
honestly say that I NEVER WASHED IT. My wife washed it a few times
but I never did and it actually looks ok (I also have low standards).
Well, an ad on Craigslist drew no looks and neither did a newspaper
ad. I think it is the mileage that scares people. She actually runs,
has a few problems but really runs and the 4WD works too. Tried to
give it to my son so he could learn some mechanical skills but he
just rolled his eyes. This truck is OK, a REAL truck and not
something that belongs in some ad for Men's fragrance.
You want $1k???

My 1995 Plymouth Voyager had 138K kilometers on it last April (85 K miles)
and when I tried to trade it on a 2007 Dodge Charger, they only offered
$200. CDN
I sold it to a courier delivery guy for $400.00 and I still see it scooting
around town.
It was a great vehicle for hauling the dog around but the wife & son ganged
up on me......................

I wanted to give it away but my wife is still giving me hell for
selling an old Celica with 240,000 miles on it for $500 about 15 yrs
ago. Eventually, she will get tired of seein it in the side yard and
she will decide she'd rahter not see it than have money.

Can't you convince her it doesn't clash with the old refrigerators, used
2x4's, old crab pots and chicken wire you stash in the yard?

HK, maybe I'll park it inside the fenced yard and use it as a doghouse
and then take the tires off, paint em white and use em to line the
driveway.

Most likely she's not aware of the value of old vehicles.
Take her to a dealer someday and ask them to check the 'Blue Book' or
whatever they use, for evalulations.
Make sure the salesman quotes the price he'd give you for the vehicle... not
what he'd sell it to you for.

Could anyone post any simpler advise? Good job, dummy.
