I have given up discussing this stuff with Harry. I don't dislike him
and
I wish him well and hope he finds peace with himself somehow. However,
it
has finally occurred to me that he is as close-minded and stuck in a way
of
thinking as he accuses many others with different opinions to be,
particularly those he considers to be on the "right". It matters not what
evidence or arguments you make. If you conflict with his way of thinking,
your wrong, dumb, under-educated, led or whatever.

There's a whole sector of our population who have these elitist traits and
nothing you say has any affect or cause for them to think outside of their
little community of thought. Fortunately, they are in the minority. They
just tend to have the biggest mouths, a trait common to Monday morning
quarterbacks.

The problem is that the 'minority' to which you refer also controls
the major media from which the undereducated population gets its
information.

Personally, I'm glad you've finally come to this realization. Harry,
IMHO, actually believes a socialist form of government is the path
this country should take. The fact that we will end up with a few
powerful 'haves' and hordes of 'have nots' doesn't faze him (or my
liberal brother for that matter).

My brother complained that his retirement accounts have lost 25% in
the past year. When I showed him the big losses started in October, he
quickly blamed it all on Bush.
