Historically, it isn't reliable to take the word of jailkeepers as to
how they treat their prisoners. It takes third parties, commissions,
investigatory bodies, et cetera.

I really don't think its reliable to take the re-thrashed word of
people who protect thugs with a biased agenda etc.

Let's face it Harry. you would not rather hear a view from one who is
there. it's much easier to believe in whom you feel comfortable with,
especially if your ideologies match.

"It takes third parties, commissions, investigatory bodies, et
cetera."

Dick Durbin (The Turban) only heard one point of view which was on his
level without true investigation, investigatory bodies, et cetera, and
if he had made his blundering speech and apology closer to election
time, he would have lost his senate seat.

Non informed : "If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was
an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their
control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by
Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--
that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case.
This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners."

Informed: (saving face apology) ""More than most people, a senator
lives by his words ... occasionally words fail us, occasionally we
will fail words,I am sorry if anything I said caused any offense or
pain to those who have such bitter memories of the Holocaust, the
greatest moral tragedy of our time. Nothing, nothing should ever be
said to demean or diminish that moral tragedy. I am also sorry if
anything I said cast a negative light on our fine men and women in the
military. ... I never ever intended any disrespect for them. Some may
believe that my remarks crossed the line. To them I extend my
heartfelt apology...They're the best,"

Durbin "attempted" to clarify his remarks last Thursday evening and
then again Friday, saying that he regretted if people did not
understand his historic analogies, ..."and he suggested that he could
not verify the accuracy of the FBI document...." (OOPS! Open mouth-
insert foot!)

BTW, Durbin later said he couldn't confirm the validity of the FBI
agents statement.

Tim. You just presented facts to Harry. What a boo boo.

TGFSF!

The problem is that the 'minority' to which you refer also controls
the major media from which the undereducated population gets its
information.

Personally, I'm glad you've finally come to this realization. Harry,
IMHO, actually believes a socialist form of government is the path
this country should take. The fact that we will end up with a few
powerful 'haves' and hordes of 'have nots' doesn't faze him (or my
liberal brother for that matter).

My brother complained that his retirement accounts have lost 25% in
the past year. When I showed him the big losses started in October, he
quickly blamed it all on Bush.

Unreal.
